Plant Identification Made Simple!

Plant ID is an online learning platform developed to help students familiarize themselves with the identification characteristics and uses of plants within the landscape.

A key observation made after teaching Environmental Horticulture (CROP 435) and Principles of Horticulture (CROP 315) in the Department of Crop Science, for over 14 years, is that the majority of students find it difficult to memorize scientific names and correctly identify plant species, a skill needed to excel in the field of Plant Sciences. Uniquely generated QR codes are attached to each plant that students can scan using their mobile devices as they interact with the landscape.

This platform would help students develop a knack for identifying plants and make learning fun and easy.
